Partnership Working

Our aim has always been to make recycling as simple as possible for our residents.

In 2003 around 85% of our waste went to landfill, and only 7% was recycled. Today we are achieving far more. By working closely with our nine District Councils, our contractor, partner organisations and the residents of Greater Manchester, we are recycling 44%, and our diversion rate is an impressive 89%.

There’s still more to do, and it is only by working together can we achieve our aim of zero waste for Greater Manchester.

By working together we can

60% increase in recycling

Increase recycling to 60% by 2025

90% Diversion Of Waste

Waste Recycling

Reduce the amount of waste we create
