Trade Waste

Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority is responsible for Household Waste only. However, there are some facilities in Greater Manchester which take trade waste.

All non-household / trade waste must be taken to a site equipped with a weighbridge, so the relevant charge for disposal can be calculated and paid for.

There is a half tonne minimum charge for trade waste. By reducing the number of small, inefficient loads at the facilities, it will aid turnaround times which are critical for the effective refuse collection services provided by district councils using these sites and reduce overall energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

Commercial customers have a wide choice in Greater Manchester of alternative facilities and methods for their waste management.

  • Contact your local council to provide alternative facilities or to order a specific trade waste bin and arrange a regular collection with them.
