Recycle for Manchester
For an even Greater Manchester, recycle!
Did you know that over 60% of what we throw away could be recycled? By using recycling services provided by Manchester City Council you can now ensure much more of your rubbish is recycled instead of needlessly going to landfill.
160,000 households are now on kerbit kerbside collections and there are 100 bringit recycling centres across the City, making Manchester the third best performer of all the Core Cities in England in 05/06.
Last year we recycled:
- 8,300 tonnes of paper
- 4,200 tonnes of glass
- 533 tonnes of cans
- 136 tonnes of plastic bottles
- 4,590 tonnes of green waste
- 228 tonnes of textiles
