Furniture Reuse Groups

 The groups below are established to provide affordable pre-owned furniture and all profits go to support community and voluntary activity.

Bolton Community Transport

Bolton Community Transport collect all kinds of household furniture which is placed in our showrooms at Market Street, Farnworth and Lecturers Close, Bolton.

Their aim is to then sell the furniture at low prices to individuals and families who are at a financial disadvantage, yet no-one is excluded. BCT also offers training and volunteering opportunities.

 Emmaus Mossley

Emmaus Mossley offer a home and work to previously homeless and unemployed people.The project finances itself by collecting and selling donated goods such as furniture, bric-a-brac, antiques, electrical appliances, clothing, books, toys, etc. They have a secondhand superstore is near Mossley Station, Tameside, Greater Manchester. They will collect donated items and deliver if required.
 

Their workshop also offers training in the manufacture (from re-cycled wood) and renovation of furniture. These goods are either sold in our shop to generate income to sustain the project or are given to families in need for a nominal cost.

Mustard Tree 

Mustard Tree are committed to reducing the amount of re-usable goods that are sent to landfill across Greater Manchester and will make good use of items that would otherwise be wasted. If you have good quality clothing, bedding, household items, small electrical items or small items of furniture that are in good condition and that you would like to donate, these can be dropped off at  Mustard Tree's premises any time 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday and 9am – 12:30pm on Saturdays.


For larger items, please contact  0161 228 7331 to arrange a collection by a Mustard Tree van.

Mustard Tree will make the items you donate available at affordable prices to those in need through their warehouse on 110 Oldham Road.

RE>BUILD

RE>BUILD is a furniture resue charity in Bury that collects quality second-user furniture for distribution to people on low incomes. A Community RE>Paint scheme and Odd Job project compliment the furniture reuse. To deliver its services, the organisation involves volunteers.  They have recently begun offering practical activities for young people (bike refurbishment) and people with disabilities (furniture refurbishment). RE>BUILD is helping to save the environment and provide a vital resource for families and individuals.

Wesley supplies furniture, domestic appliances, household goods and clothing at the lowest possible prices to those in greatest need (and those after a bargain). Wesley strives to provide the cheapest reusable furniture in Manchester.

Their vans can collect, free of charge, donations of most household items throughout most of the Greater Manchester area. These are then sorted, stored and sold from the shops in Hulme and Fallowfield, and delivered free of charge to those in need. Most of the charity’s work is carried out by volunteers, and all money it makes is used so that it can provide the service.
