Community
Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority (GMWDA) has a long history of supporting community groups and the community waste sector in waste prevention and minimisation activities. We have, for the past four years, supported the Community Recycling Network’s (CRN) North West co-ordinator with funds to keep the network up and running, supporting community waste groups in the region. We value the work undertaken by the network members and community groups to increase the amount of waste that is recycled and reused in our communities, and recognise that the sector plays an important role in the management of waste in Greater Manchester
We have links with a wide variety of groups across the spectrum of the community and voluntary sector ranging from National charities such as Age Concern to local scout groups all of whom are helping us recycle and reuse more.
